Equip yourself to get through parenting with independent play, regulating sensory input, and more clarity and confidence all-round.

This is a course for tired, overwhelmed parents of 2 - 8 year olds.

  • This might be you if you feel like you're constantly wondering "what to do" with your kids

  • Or if you feel like you're in absolute survival mode each school holidays

  • Or if you are struggling to find joy in your parenting role

  • Or if each day it feels like you're overwhelmed and scrambling, just to make it through to bedtime.

You feel like you're working really hard, but still...

  • you're super overwhelmed because you don't know what to do with your kids

  • you're overstimulated, ragey, and angry, but don't know what to do about it

  • you feel like you're failing as a result.

What if you tried living a "sensory lifestyle"?

A sensory lifestyle is where you intentionally use knowledge of the nervous system to have a "sensory lens" on everyday life.

When we as humans intentionally live a sensory lifestyle, our bodies can feel more regulated, more "in-sync", more present, and more calm.

This is true for your kids, as well as for yourself!

A few key shifts

can bring in some quiet, more connected, relaxed times with your kids, more independent play (more time for you!) and better regulation overall for your household.

- Noise goes down.

- Big feelings calm.

And your days can have more joy as a family... rather than feel like a long never-ending battle.

Imagine what it feels like to:

Have solid strategies and tools to create an everyday family life that’s different from what you are living now.

Be crystal clear on how to parent as a sensory sensitive parent and have the tools to be able to balance YOUR needs as well as your children's.

ENJOY parenting more! Enjoy being with your children, and be able to have more FUN every day with your kids.

Understand and apply the foundations of sensory, play, behavior, and routines for yourself and your children.

Parenting really CAN feel easier... that's why I created this programme for you.

The background behind The In-Tune Parent course:

I have been reaching parents online since 2018, either through blogging on on Instagram or TikTok. That's over 5 years now!

I noticed that I would regularly hear from and notice so many Mums who are struggling trying to be present, but also trying to get their kid to play independently so they can just take a breather.

They also feel massively overstimulated, under pressure to be a "perfect parent", and really lack a village around them to support them in their mental health and matrescence journey.

This isn't how it's supposed to be.

In my career as a mental health and paediatric occupational therapist, I've taught SO many tired Mums how to:

  • know WHAT to do and HOW to do it to get their kids playing independently

  • structure screen time so it doesn't take over their lives

  • intentionally create sensory lifestyles for themselves and their kids, so that the whole family feels better and more regulated

Here's what parents say about what I teach:

J - Mum of a 4 year old

Thanks so much for today, I'm blown away. It all makes so much sense and I've struggled for so many years. I'm very grateful.

Parent - 2019

I really value the time I spent talking with Rachel. She has a very calming and supportive style.

She helped me reflect on my child's play preferences and sensory urges so that I can offer him alternatives to screen time.

Parent - 2024

I feel so much better just from talking with you today.

Living a sensory lifestyle is the "missing link", that most other parenting programmes don't offer.

Most parents don’t even realize the relationship between the sensory system and what's going on for them and their children.

But actually, unmet sensory needs can lead to many of the unwanted behaviours in a household.

This is what happens when I intentionally lead my family in living a sensory lifestyle:
  • I feel more in-tune with my children's behaviour
  • It allows me to think deeper and figure out what's happening with my kids' behaviour
  • I am more in-tune with my own sensory overwhelm, I can put strategies in through the day to help me and l can communicate that effectively to my family
  • My children are more regulated because I intentionally give them specific types of sensory input in the rhythm of our days

See what other parents have said!

Sounds great, but I’m a busy, tired Mama with two littles... is this course for me?

Yep! We have many parents who sign up after having their second child.

When baby is about 6 months old is a good time to do the course - after you've emerging from the "fog" of newborn days.

In-Tune will help you learn ways to connect with and keep your toddler independently playing while you're busy with baby.

And it will set you up SO well for the rest of your parenting years!

I barely have time to listen to a poddy, let alone complete a course! How long are the vids?

The videos are kept short so you can easily flick between each one.

Parents tell us they find it easy to listen “on the go” when they are folding washing or running errands. You can watch on 1.25x or 1.5x.

And, if you get interrupted, (or fall asleep while putting your toddler to bed?) then you can come back and pick up exactly where you stopped - our platform remembers your spot!

What if I can't get through the course content?

You get lifetime access!

We find that parents keep revisiting our resources as their toddlers grow or their life circumstances change (moving house, recovering from sickness, or having another baby).

Giving lifetime access is one of the ways we can add value to your life and create a supportive environment to help you on your parenting journey.

Is there a list of activities by age?

We have a few lists included, but our "special sauce" is teaching parents how to go BEYOND setting up single "play activities".

You will become an expert in crafting open-ended play opportunities based on your OWN child’s unique play preferences!

Once you know this information, you won't actually have to worry about referring to "lists" any more.

You say the course is for parents of 2-8 year olds. My two kids are 6 & 8yrs old. Will the content be applicable to me?

Most of the content that we teach is based on a stage of development where children are beginning to explore their world away from their primary caregiver.

They need lots of sensory-motor movement and opportunities for safe, free play in this stage, (which is what we guide parents on in the course content)!

We find that when children begin to read independently (around age 7 years) the intensity for parent input can lessen, which is why the course is for 2-8 year olds. Parenting changes after that!

If your children are age 6-8 the content will still be applicable for you.

Parents who sign up when their children are 6 & 8 years old usually message and say "I wish I'd done this sooner!"

Is there access to coaching?

In-Tune parents do have the option to book an add-on 1:1 coaching call with Connect Occupational Therapy, or access as guided version of this course with group coaching calls.

My child or I are neurodivergent. Is this course for us?

At Connect Occupational Therapy we are committed to practicing in way that is neurodiversity affirming. We recognise the strengths that come with being a neurodiverse person, alongside the challenges of living in a world designed for neurotypicals.

We strive to holistically support parents who have autistic children, children with ADHD, sensory processing differences, and also those who are as-yet undiagnosed but in the stage of "wondering".

We are experienced and trained in  providing advice through a trauma informed lens.

Parents who are neurodiverse and/or highly sensitive may find the course content particularly helpful as it provides practical parenting strategies grounded in a sensory processing "lens". This advice can differ from mainstream parenting advice and it may well be the answer you've been looking for.

That's exactly what the In-Tune Parenting Programme can give you.
